Memorable Client Gifts
Giving gifts to clients is an excellent way to show that you appreciate their business. But it is a great opportunity to show them that you want to have them as a client forever. Expensive, individualized gifts are very impressive but not everyone has the resources to give them. So how do you impress your clients without paying a fortune? Here are some ideas:
A Housewarming Party: When some buys a home, especially a first home, they are eager to show all their friends and family. As a gift to your client, sponsor a housewarming party. Can you think of a better networking opportunity? Not only did you help your client purchase a house, but you also sponsored their party. Your client will be singing your praises to everyone at the party and you will have the chance to meet them all face to face. You’ll have a whole list of referrals by the time the party is over!
We’ve Moved Cards: If the idea of sponsoring a housewarming makes you break out in hives, buy your client We’ve Moved Cards so they can send their new address to their friends and family. This gift is not only practical and thoughtful, but it won’t add to the cluttered chaos of a new home. Generic cards are nice but a custom card that features a picture of your clients and/or their house on the front is memorable. And when their friends and family ask where they got the cool cards, you will be the topic of conversation!
If you need help with House Warming Party Invitations or you’d like to buy some We’ve Moved Cards, let us know! We can create custom invitations and cards or you can check out our We’ve Moved Templates for clients and businesses.

House Swapping
I'm sure you have noticed that there have been many articles lately about the increase in second home purchases. While reading several of these articles, I came across an article describing a product of this trend called "House Swapping". House swapping is exactly like it sounds. You and another person or family live in each other's homes for a period of time. The benefit to both parties is a vacation without the lodging expenses and an experience different from that of the normal tourist. Now of course there are down sides to strangers living in your house, but you can see how it allows a kind of flexibility that is hard to find when booking traditional vacations. There are even website that help connect swappers:
Digsville Home Exchange Club
Homelink
Intervac
Craigslist
So if my last post got you thinking about a long overdue vacation, give home swapping a thought and read the article referenced below. House swapping may give you the opportunity to explore a new place or experience an old one from a different point of view.

Happy 4th of July!
Happy Independence Day!As we were planning our 4th of July festivities, I came across two separate articles about the importance of taking vacations. Personally, I have never had a problem using up my vacation days but apparently Americans are taking fewer and fewer vacation days every year.
Here are some positive benefits of vacations:
- Cures burnout (the last stage of chronic stress)
- Prevents health risks of stress
- Increases positive mood, initiative and optimism
- Increases job performance
- Improves family time and relationships
- Improves communities and community involvement
The catch is that you have to take your vacations. Leave your laptop and your Blackberry at home and give yourself a chance to recharge. When you get back to work you may find yourself producing your best work yet!
